My New Years Resolutions

Happy New Year Everyone!!

2008 was an INCREDIBLE year for me. I kicked off the New Year by...
  • Losing an incredible amount of weight (I'm currently at over 70 lbs lost and keeping it off! (so far!) - Woohoo!)
  • I surprised all my Consultant friends with the "new me" when I attended the CTMH Consultants Convention in Orlando Florida this past July (that was a lot of fun actually, because no one even recognized me...lol!)
  • I took my hubby on an INCREDIBLE vacation to Europe followed by a Mediterranean Cruise with CTMH (talk about a vacation of a lifetime - WOW!)
  • Strengthened some friendships *waves to all my favorite friends* while being fortunate enough to reconnect with some childhood friends and even make some new friends, too! "smile"
  • Found a new love for fitness that I never, ever had before (even when it kicks my butt and leaves me sore for days I'm really loving it! lol)
  • And...I even started blogging on a regular basis which has been so much fun and an inspiration to many, including myself! The wonderful emails and comments I receive weekly...so heartfelt and encouraging! Thank you SO MUCH for those. Your words truly lift my spirits and make me feel good. :)
So, what will this New Year bring for me? Well, I can sit here and hope for many things to come my way but I know that if I set some goals I will better my chances for success. So, here are both SOME of my Personal & Business goals (outside of the true "givens" of family, spirituality, prosperity, health, wealth, and so on) to help kick-off the New Year (in no particular order)... :)

My Personal Goals:
  • To become a more positive and heartfelt person that people enjoy being around.
  • To be a wonderful friend to all who know me as well as to those that want to take the time to get to know me. :)
  • To jump into "personal" scrapbooking which means I want to actually COMPLETE at least 2 albums this year that shares my personal memories and experiences through fun photos, heartfelt journaling, and inspirational artwork.
  • To win 1st place in at least 1 CTMH Monthly Artwork Contest for consultants (guess I had better start sending in my artwork, huh? lol).
My Business Goals:
  • To earn the CTMH New Zealand trip WITH airfare PAID. (I just saw a report from corporate yesterday and it said that I'm currently on track to earn this trip. Woohoo! I still have 9 months of hard work ahead of me, though, so we'll see if I can earn it! *fingers are crossed*)
  • To be an inspiration to my Team by helping them achieve their business dreams through more focused sessions including one-on-one coaching.
  • To provide fun inspirations through creative artwork, challenges, and contests. (I already have a few fun things hidden up my sleeve!)
What are your New Years Goals? :) You can also check out my Health & Fitness Goals for the New Year by visiting my other blog at: http://alittleonmylips.blogspot.com

My Fitness Goals for the New Year!

Each year, it seems, I toss out a single resolution for the New Year with little to no determination on my part and it usually ends up being the same one that most everyone in America has as well - wanting to LOSE WEIGHT! I basically try for 2 weeks and then just coast through the rest of the year anticipating the next January 1st so that I can jump back on the New Year's bandwagon with the same resolution and another 2 weeks worth of effort...LOL! Well, that isn't in my game plan for 2009!

I have decided to really crank things up with something more concrete and inspirational. ...Plus, since I really worked hard at losing weight in 2008 (has a nice ring doesn't it?) I really wanted to focus on "looking fine in 2009" - LOL! So here are my fitness and health goals to help kick-off the first part of 2009 (in no particular order)...

By April 15th I will achieve...
  • (5) full on push-ups.
  • (1) true pull-up (at least).
  • Lose 15 lbs.
  • Continue to get my fanny into the gym 3-4x a week.
  • Continue to improve my overall health by continuing to follow a healthy diet and fun fitness routine which will hopefully help to get me off of my blood pressure medication, too - *fingers are crossed*
  • Finally bite the bullet and learn how to swim. (I know, how embarrassing is this?! LOL)
  • Pick up a new activity and/or try something new like indoor Rock Climbing, Hot Yoga, Hiking, belly dancing, or possibly Snowboarding or Snow-Shoeing. I'd also like to get out and do a little bit of golfing, too - even miniature golf will do. LOL

Mmm! Another cupcake!

I received another unexpected package in the mail today...this ADORABLE Cupcake ornament from my friend Melanie B. - isn't it the cutest! :)

Melanie admitted to me today that she was getting worried because I hadn't said anything about it but then once she saw that we had a big snow storm she was able to rest a little easier knowing that it was possible that I hadn't been up to my PO Box to get it yet.

Thank you so much Melanie! I'm beside myself to think that you would send me such a special gift. You are so sweet to me!! I absolutely love it! I'm going to have so many special ornaments on my tree next year, now. I'm so excited!! :)

And the Christmas Cards continue!

So as promised yesterday I headed to my PO Box to see if I had any mail to pick up...I did! I received another stack of Christmas Cards as well as this handmade beauty from my team member and friend Bell M. Isn't it cute! I loved how she did the glazed flower...so adorable!

Thank you so much Bell! It was absolutely beautiful! Thank you for thinking of me. :)

I ran around the block!

An update for:
Tuesday, December 30th, 2008

Dear Blog Journal,
Another good day! I made it to my workout...I was even looking forward to going in! Of course after today I'm now looking forward to my day of rest whish will be tomorrow...LOL! :)

I surprised myself today by choosing to run around the block instead of rowing as part of the warm-up and the cool thing was that I actually ran the whole way without stopping. Woohoo me!! I didn't like the feeling of all the cold air in my chest afterwards, though, so that made it a little bit harder for me to recover...at least that's what I'm blaming it on at the moment - ha!

The other thing that I did that is something to take note of was to almost make myself sick from doing the side to side jumps...OY! After each round my stomach was churnin' a little bit but I worked through it without any incidents. WHEW!

In just a couple of days I will be coming forward with some workout goals for the New Year. Being that I'm so new to this whole fitness thing I'm really not sure what I should be focusing on, yet. Both Nathan and Tina have told me what they think my fitness goals should be and I am definitely going to take their advice into consideration as I make my concrete goals. So stay tuned for those...I'm hoping to have those posted on January 1st. :)

Here is what we did for the Workout:
Skill was: 3 rounds
  • 10 - weighted push-ups (I did girl pushups)
  • 5-8 Dips (I did 5)
  • 30 second L-sit
Workout was: 3 rounds of 45 sec w/ 15 sec. rests - 90 second rests in between rounds
  • Double KB Cleans
  • Renegade Lounges
  • Side to Side Jumps
  • Cross Chop to Halo
  • Planks / Push-ups
EXTRA at home: 20 sec. row 10 sec. rest (5x), same with jumprope

My food intake:
Breakfast: 1/4 cup Oatmeal with 1 pk. Kashi hot cereal w/ 1 scoop Glutamine & 3/4 scoop Max Pro Vanilla, 1 oz Max Ultra 100 Vitamins
Snack:
Lunch: Tuna English Muffin and String Cheese
Other: 4 oz MonaVie
Snack: Max Gourmet "Hot Chocolate" w/ 1 scooop Glutamine
Dinner: Chicken Mexacali (slow cooker meal)

Water intake: 48 oz

2 more Christmas Cards!

So the big snow storm must've held up a ton of my mail because when I opened my mailbox yesterday it was jam packed with lots of Christmas cards and bills. (Yuck on the bills! lol) Now it's got me wondering how full my PO Box could be and if I got any surprise goodies in there! Hope so! I'll have to head up there today and check it out. :)

This first card I want to show you is from my BFF Pam B. I thought this card was so stinkin' cute and I thought she did up the snowman absolutely adorable! Pam always does amazing artwork and I am constantly being inspired by all she does. Just wish she lived closer to me so that I could see her more than 1-2 times a year. *sigh*

Great job on this card Pam!! I'm sure that everyone that received it was very blessed. :)

This next card that I want to share was done by Chris H, Pam's upline as a matter of fact! I love this card, too! I like how its so simple but yet very classy all at the same time.

Thank you so much for blessing me with your artwork Chris. It was a fun surprise to open it up yesterday. :)

I gained in weight today!

An update for:
Monday, December 29th, 2008

Dear Blog Journal,
First off...yeah yeah, I know. I didn't blog about my fitness yesterday. It was a rest day and all I did was eat junky and shop. LOL But today I was back on like Donkey Kong and here is what I have to say about it...

Who would've ever thought that gaining weight could be a good thing? Well, for me, it happened today...but in a good way! Here's the scoop...

Basically, what I'm saying is that either I didn't wimp out with my workout (because at one point my stomach started turning and I could've easily pushed myself further and gotten sick! EEK!) or I'm jut getting stronger! I'm going to opt for the stronger option...you should see my "guns" baby! LOL Woohoo! ;)~ Instead of push pressing kettlebells at minimal weight in an effort to baby my bad neck/shoulder/back issue I actually DOUBLE push pressed two 25 lb kettlebells. That's a huge improvement for me. :))

The picture shown with this post is from the Saturday class. That was a very fun class actually! Gotta say that my thighs are super sore from all the squats we did both Friday and Saturday but that's ok, very worth it and I'm working through it (and sitting in the hot tub at night is not hurting my feelings in the least!). :)~

Here is what we did for the Workout today:
Skill was: 3 rounds
  • 5 - double kettlebell push press (2 @ 15lbs x 2, 2 @ 18lbs 1x, 2 @ 20 lbs, 1x, 2 @ 25lbs 1x)
  • 5 - pull ups (negative)
Workout was: 1 minute each, rest, x3
  • Slam Ball (12 lb, 16 lb, 16 lb)
  • Thrusters (15 lb, 15 lb, 12.5 lb)
  • Kettlebell Swings (20 lbs)
I think I ended my reps at: 78, 69, 74

My food intake:
Breakfast: 1/4 cup Oatmeal with 1 pk. Kashi hot cereal w/ 1 scoop Glutamine & 3/4 scoop Max Pro Vanilla, 1 oz Max Ultra 100 Vitamins
Snack:
Lunch: Tuna English Muffin and String Cheese
Other: 4 oz MonaVie
Snack: Max Gourmet "Hot Chocolate" w/ 1 scooop Glutamine
Dinner: 1 Chicken Taco, 1/2 quesadilla
Snack: Grapes
Water intake: 64 oz - Woohoo! I did it! 8 glasses baby! Finally! LOL

All you clubbies of mine, consider yourselves warned! This months club kit is going to be a messy one. LOL!

As you can (sorta) see in the picture to the left I got into a fight with the CTMH Moonstruck Ink Pad because of all of the distressing that this months kit requires...and this was only after doing ONE of the 12" x 12" pages! I don't even want to imagine what I'd look like after doing the other page and the 3 cards! LOL

Pictures of the upcoming kit should be appearing within the next day or 2. Can't wait to show you!

An update for:
Friday, December 26th, 2008

Dear Blog Journal,
With Christmas overeating behind me I made sure to focus today on trying to eat decent and get my body back to feeling the way it did before the holidays hit! Hopefully it will only take me the usual 4 days to get back into the habit and to get myself set up to lose the poundage I packed on over the past few days along with the 10 lbs I still need to lose. So as I go through my next few days if any nutrition and fitness experts want to throw me some ideas I'd love to hear them! :)

Here is what we did for the Workout:
Skill was: 5 rounds
  • 10 Heavy Medicine Ball Cleans (16 lbs)
  • 5-10 Pull-ups (3 bands)
Workout was: 6 rounds of a 20/10
  • Row
  • Medicine Ball Cleans
  • Ropes
  • Pushups
My food intake:
Breakfast: 1/4 cup Oatmeal with 1 pk. Kashi hot cereal w/ 1 scoop Glutamine & 3/4 scoop Max Pro Vanilla, 1 oz Max Ultra 100 Vitamins
Snack: 1 low fat string cheese
Lunch: 2 small slices of bread, 1/2 chicken waldorf salad at Cali. Pizza Kitchen, dressing on the side!
Other: 4 oz MonaVie
Snack: Tall Pumpkin Spice Latte n/f no whip

Merry Christmas!

An update for:
Thursday, December 25th, 2008

Dear Blog Journal,
Merry Christmas!

Today was not a workout day, nor was it a good day for me to report on what I ate...eek! So, instead I just wanted to take a moment to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas. I'm back to being on track (and looking forward to it!) first thing in the morning. :)

Merry Christmas!

I just wanted to wish all my friends a very Merry Christmas! I hope the time you spent with family and friends was both magical and memorable. :)

I also wanted to share with you the picture that we sent out on our Christmas Cards this year. I couldn't get my scanner to scan our actual card so instead I'm just sharing the picture. We had a lot of fun making this and it was PERFECT that our snow storm hit just in time for this photo because it gave us the perfect excuse to drive around in the snow looking for Santa hats. I hope those of you that haven't seen it yet get a kick out of it. ~hugs to all~ :)

Happy Christmas Eve Eve!

It's getting late so I thought I would just post a few random pictures from over the last couple of days. I'm looking forward to eventually putting some of these together on a scrapbook page...when I do I'll be sure to share! :)

This is our little dog Chip (Cocker Papillion) enjoying the snow in our backyard. He's actually running around on our deck but the snow off of the deck is just as high! Crazy nuts! :)

This picture was taken yesterday (December 22nd) before we headed to Seattle. Isn't the snow on the trees beautiful behind me? I love this photo...its one of my favorites (and I'm wearing my cupcake shirt! LOL)

This is Becca playing Santa at our Christmas Eve Eve get together. Unfortunately there are no pictures of Alyssa because she was the one that took all of the pictures. OY!

After dropping Aaron's Grandma off at her home in Federal Way we decided to make a little detour on our way back to the hotel by stopping at the place where Aaron and I met 22 years ago! Patterson's West Roller Skating Rink! LOL This picture was funny because it was super cold outside and we had to hold our breath so that it didn't fade us out in the picture. LOL Kinda funny!

I'm in the blog photo!

An update for:
Tuesday, December 23rd, 2008

Dear Blog Journal,
So, I didn't sleep the best last night...not sure if it was because the hotel room was too warm or what but I suspect that in a few short hours I'll be running on fumes! LOL Oh well. It's the joy of being in the midst of Christmas festivities, right?

So, I'm sorta excited today. Not only is there ANOTHER chance for more snow to pile up (between 4" to 6") but Tina posted some pictures of yesterday's workout and I'm in them!! Woohoo!! Ok, so I shouldn't be too thrilled because they aren't the best shots of me (no offense Tina!) and if I was in charge of how the outcome of the photo would've turned out she would've had to of taken at least 10 more shots and probably froze her tootsies off in the process. LOL (I'm a perfectionist for that kind of stuff, ya know! *grin*) But I made the blog, none the less, so that's something to celebrate, right?

No workout today...with Christmas here and us being in Seattle its just too hard for me this week. :( As for the rest of it...well...

My food intake:
Too disgusting to mention! ROFL After Christmas I am back on like Donkey Kong baby! LOL :)

You can check out the other pictures of us on the Recreate-Fitness blog as well as through the link on the right side of this page! :)

Snotsicles! Ewww!

I had to share this picture with everyone - LOL!

My Mom sent me this photo yesterday of the little fountain of bears that she has sitting near her front porch. We found it very funny because if you notice there is a snotsicle hanging from one bears nose to the other...LOL! - Ewww! How in the world it formed at that angle is beyond me! *hehehe*

More Winter White!

Unbelievable! We have a total of at least 16" of snow at our house! Woohoo! Wish I was home to enjoy it but today was the day that we decided to head up to Seattle to start celebrating Christmas with family - it only took us 3 1/2 hours of driving time instead of 3. Not so bad! Seattle has lots of snow up here (maybe not as much as at home, though) but the roads are all bare and wet compared to our roads around home where chains were required on all vehicles. It was nutso but oh so beautiful as you can see by today's pictures...

The Pearl District - downtown Portland at 7:00am this morning.

Heading out of Portland after working out at the gym (8:30am).

Aaron and I outside our house as the snow continued to come down. Man I'm loving this!

I have more pictures but I forgot to recharge my battery before we left for Seattle so I'm not sure I have enough battery life to pull those yet...LOL! Luckily we have our good camera with us so we'll be able to get some AWESOME Christmas pictures. Can't wait! :) Maybe I'll even FINALLY get some of these pictures scrapbooked...now wouldn't that be a concept! :)

Merry Christmas everyone!

Think Pink!

An update for:
Monday, December 22nd, 2008

Dear Blog Journal,
Another snowy day in Portland didn't stop us from heading to the gym for an early morning workout (7:30am)! Even though I thought for sure that class would be cancelled it wasn't and so I feel much better about my performance in the gym considering how yucky I ate over the weekend!

Krispy Kreme Glaze...

An update for:
Sunday, December 21st, 2008

Dear Blog Journal,
We woke up to a beautiful white morning - well, more like 8" of snow and a 1/2" of ice topping it like a Krispy Kreme glazed donut - LOL! But still beautiful none the less. :)

Today was one of my scheduled days off from working out but that doesn't mean that I didn't work hard at getting the rest of the Team Club Kits for my business all boxed up and ready for mailing in the morning. *whew* Always hard work.

I ended up going to sleep fairly early last night because after all the junk I ate yesterday my stomach didn't feel too good. :( I'm not use to feeling like that...UGH! So needless to say my mood and my day of eating on a consistent basis wasn't so hot today either...but still way better than what I consumed yesterday. LOL

My food intake:
Breakfast: Grande Pumpkin Spice Latte n/f no whip and Max Ultra 100 Vitamins
Lunch: Lean Cuisine Chicken Enchiladas
Other: 4 oz MonaVie
Snack: 6 triscuits and a small slice of pizza
Dinner: Chicken & Veggies
Snack: Triscuit Thin Crisps
Water intake: 16oz - again, very low. :(

It doesn't take much to entertain us!

So...I needed to run out for some printer ink & to return some movies - excuses excuses...LOL! Well, we decided to take a fun little side trip to a closed car lot (guess they didn't think they would get any sales with all the snow today so they closed up shop early. Too bad for them because we might've wanted to buy something... *wink wink*).

Anyways, we basically stopped in to see what my "dream car" would look like with a pile of snow on it. LOL (See, I told you that it doesn't take much to entertain us! LOL) Ultimately, I would LOVE to have the Audi TT but would definitely settle for this hot little thing...the Nissan 300z. *hehehe* Not too shabby, eh?

Check out how deep the snow is around my ankles - Wow! I'm thinkin' I look pretty good next to this baby...now to convince Aaron that I need it in 2009...HMMM! ;)~

Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow!

An update for:
Saturday, December 20th, 2008

Dear Blog Journal,
Its a winter wonderland around here and I love it! Just check out the view from Barnes & Noble at the Clackamas Mall!

Unfortunately I can't claim to doing anything "good" for myself today by way of eating and exercise...eek! I am, however, fully prepared to share with you how horrible I ate - (ugh, I can't believe I'm about to spill the details! LOL) but the snow has me all giddy and excited so that's the excuse I'm going to use for today... Hope that's ok? ;) I promise to be back on track tomorrow...otherwise I just won't ever lose the rest of the weight I want to lose. *sigh*

My food intake:
Breakfast: Cranberry Orange Scone and a Grande Pumpkin Spice Latte n/f no whip
Other: 1 Carrot Cupcake, 1 Red Velvet mini-cake, 1 Chocolate Cream Cheese mini-cake
Lunch: Spicy Tempura Tuna Roll, Tempura Veggies, and 2 unagi (I know I'm spelling this wrong! lol)
Other: 3 oz MonaVie / Vitamins
Snack: Costco Polish Dog (um, only it wasn't "snack size" - lol!)
Dinner: 2 slices of Papa Murphys Hawaiian Delite Pizza
Snack: Almond M&Ms
Water intake: Maybe 8 oz? Eek!

Its a Winter Wonderland!

Just wanted to share some of our SNOW pictures that we took around town today. It's literally been snowing since around 6am this morning and we probably have AT LEAST 6" tonight (6pm!) after its been snowing constantly all day...woohoo!

I'm so lovin' this! Wish it would stick around for a couple of weeks because its so pretty to look at but the weatherman is predicting that it'll turn to freezing rain by tomorrow afternoon before warming up and melting off. That bums me out! :( I hope he's WRONG! Otherwise I may have to put in a request to move somewhere that has TRUE winters and TRUE summers. :)~

This photo was taken inside the car as we headed into Portland via the Broadway Bridge.

This is a shot as we entered into the Pearl District.

Aaron and I after heading out of Saint Cupcake. (Mmm, cupcakes and snow! Yummy!)

Becca and Alyssa as we were driving around town.

I took this picture of the Clackamas Mall parking lot as I was staning on the 2nd level of Barnes & Nobel around 3pm or so this afternoon.

This is what Aaron's car looked like when we got home from a fun day of shopping and driving around in the snow. We were amazed at the amount of cars that actually decided to brave the roads today. Unbeleiveable!

I thought this was a cool shot taken out in our cul-de-sac showing how deep the snow is in front of our cars headlights!

And, last but not least...ME! :)

Have a great evening everyone. Stay warm! :)

I earned my Angel wings...only you can't see them!

While out and about Christmas shopping yesterday we made our way to the OTHER Cupcake store in town - Saint Cupcake! Woohoo! What an adorable store that Jami has put together - and I can't wait to let her know it the next time I see her. :)

You all probably know me well by now...I couldn't get out of there without a cupcake AND a t-shirt! I love this shirt! While you can't see it from the picture that was taken this morning before heading out into the snow, the backside has ANGEL WINGS as the design. Way cute, so clever!

As for the cupcakes...YUM! I had a bite of Alyssa's whopper one - very good...but the carrot cake one - HOLY COW, YUM! Can't wait to eat another...LOL! (wondering if Aaron will make a stop there after we do our regular SUSHI SATURDAY lunch...Hmmm!)

I really need to get that new CTMH Cupcake stamp set of mine out again and compile a layout of all my cool Cupcake t-shirts, don't you think? *teehee* Maybe after Christmas. :)

Have a very happy Saturday, everyone. Stay warm! (It's snowing here right now as I blog from the Starbucks in the Alphabet District in downtown Portland. We could see up to a foot...hope so! LOL)

I am so stoked! I NEVER find hats that I think look at least 1/2 way decent on me and when I do they never seem to fit my big, fat head (which is where I store all of my cool, innovative ideas, of course...yeah, that's the ticket!)...LOL! But today was the exception! Woohoo!

We were out on 23rd today in Portland doing some last minute Christmas shopping at the ultra unique stores and ventured into a hat store. I got to talking to the very helpful sales clerk about how I can never find hats that look good on me and so she began scouring the store until she could prove me wrong! I ended up with this very soft, black, knit hat for a good price and wore it all day long. It was nice to have since the weather has been so cold AND it was snowing a little bit while we were downtown. Loved that it kept my ears warm and looked GREAT with my black velvety jacket that I bought about a month ago, too. :)

P.S. - I think I need to throw a party. This post marks my 100th post to my blog! YIPPEE!! :)

Another handmade Christmas Card

I received another CUTE handmade card in the mail today! This time it was from my good friend Irene! Isn't it adorable! I always love the things that she comes up with...so simple yet so completely beautiful! :)
