My Fitness Goals for the New Year!

Each year, it seems, I toss out a single resolution for the New Year with little to no determination on my part and it usually ends up being the same one that most everyone in America has as well - wanting to LOSE WEIGHT! I basically try for 2 weeks and then just coast through the rest of the year anticipating the next January 1st so that I can jump back on the New Year's bandwagon with the same resolution and another 2 weeks worth of effort...LOL! Well, that isn't in my game plan for 2009!

I have decided to really crank things up with something more concrete and inspirational. ...Plus, since I really worked hard at losing weight in 2008 (has a nice ring doesn't it?) I really wanted to focus on "looking fine in 2009" - LOL! So here are my fitness and health goals to help kick-off the first part of 2009 (in no particular order)...

By April 15th I will achieve...
  • (5) full on push-ups.
  • (1) true pull-up (at least).
  • Lose 15 lbs.
  • Continue to get my fanny into the gym 3-4x a week.
  • Continue to improve my overall health by continuing to follow a healthy diet and fun fitness routine which will hopefully help to get me off of my blood pressure medication, too - *fingers are crossed*
  • Finally bite the bullet and learn how to swim. (I know, how embarrassing is this?! LOL)
  • Pick up a new activity and/or try something new like indoor Rock Climbing, Hot Yoga, Hiking, belly dancing, or possibly Snowboarding or Snow-Shoeing. I'd also like to get out and do a little bit of golfing, too - even miniature golf will do. LOL

Happy New Year! Stay safe and warm as you ring in the New Year!! :)

Determined to look fine in 2009 -

I'm following you girl! What a great way to keep up with this, just might have to consider this. I've have been up and down with my weight. I needed some mojo and you've given it to me. I love to exercise but it's been hard finding the time since my hubby got back from Iraq. Now is the time to get my bu-tay in gear!
Thanks for the inspiration.
By the way, what is glutamine? and where do you get this?
