Has the Christmas Spirit hit me yet?

Ok, so I have to admit that I haven't had the urge to jump into the "Christmas Spirit" yet. :( Today actually felt like any regular Saturday...Sushi Saturday to be exact...LOL! So we went out for Sushi and just did our regular family thing and had fun. :)

Each year it seems like it takes me longer and longer to catch the Christmast Spirit and I always seem to trace it back to one tiny incident... Back in 1998 (or so) we were making a move across town and lost a box out of the back of our truck which just happened to contain ALL of our Christmas ornaments. :( They scattered all over the freeway and I was absolutely heartsick! These were ornaments from our first Christmas together, ornaments that our girls had made in school, and even some wooden ornaments that I had handpainted with my Mom when I was a little girl. :( It was such a bummer and I can't help but to think about that every year when Christmas time rolls around.

...But... while out and about, today, I have to admit that I really started to take notice of the number of cars and trucks that were on their way home with their very own Christmas Trees. We're talking car after car around every twist and turn...and of course every store that you walk in to is decorated to the hilt and playing Christmas music...so...

Resisting the urge to stay a Grinch for a couple more weeks, we decided that today would be the day that Aaron would put up the house lights and the tree would be decorated. I did the lights (which ALWAYS frustrates me because the Virgo in me tends to flair up - meaning the lights have to be nothing less than PERFECT (like me *hehehe*) and I won't accept much help LOL) and then we left the girls do all of the decorating. They did a great job, by the say! :)

So, while I haven't quite made it fully into the Christmas spirit yet...I'm definitely making progress as we inch closer and closer to Christmas. I mean, come on...the Christmas tree is now up, right? :)

LOL! Had to laugh at your comment about being a Virgo and the lights needing to be perfect! I too am a Virgo and in my opinion, there cna never be too many lights on our tree and they had better be evenly spaced with no holes or dark spots!

LOL! Glad I'm not the only one with that problem. :)
